The power of friendship in a teenager's life

Everything that until now the teenager discussed with his parents, he now has the opportunity to share with the people of his choice, who he feels can understand him more than his family. In essence, friends act as a mirror in which the adolescent looks for a new identity. Also, there is the possibility of free expression and acceptance of himself, without having to apologize for his choices or behaviors, as he would have to do with his parents. The temporary severance of dependence on parents is transferred to friends. Thus, strong bonds and emotional dependencies are created, which is why sometimes we can encounter the phenomenon of the teenager showing submission to his group of friends, i.e. following with "closed" eyes what the group suggests to be done, and not having full control of his actions, as he cannot conceive of being rejected by his friends.
